Internship Tasks
As an external consultant, your main task will be to help clients objectively analyze existing organizational problems and figure out a plan for improvement. Thus, depending on your skills and career goal, your placement might be in a consulting firm focusing on one of the following: Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Design, Strategic Management, Sales, Talent Management – you name it. As an intern, you will refine and broaden your knowledge through practical experience and greatly benefit from that of your co-workers. Above all, Consulting offers many networking opportunities to help you start off your career in this ever-evolving industry. Stretching across all sectors, the internship will allow you to familiarize yourself with the current trends and happenings in the industry, therefore preparing you to land your dream position in this striving field.
Previous interns have accomplished the following tasks over the course of their internship:
- Testing recommendations using computer models
- Making presentations and writing reports to present findings to clients
- Assisting the Consulting team to identify issues and working out a plan for improvement
- Liaising with companies, conducting interviews, research, and surveys to gain an understanding of the business
- Scheduling meetings and projects
- Assessing possible strategies
The list above only shows examples of tasks our previous interns have been involved in. Internship tasks may vary greatly from intern to intern depending on the respective host company.
Note that you will be given a personal supervisor during your internship, who will train and guide you throughout your journey.
