Speaking of hotels, there are many people especially tourists, are more familiar than me – five-star skyscrapers with sauna and Spa at each floor, swimming pools just right in front of your door windows, resorts with a mini amusement parks and even golf court or inns where one room can fit six people from different parts of the world. But have you ever heard of a hotel that is robot-staffed? YES, ROBOT. No need to panic because they are still in control by humans, unlike what happened in movie “Robot”.

Well, lets start our journey to the mysterious but amazing Robot hotel now.

The first robot hotel in the world was opened in July 2015 near the Dutch theme park Huis Ten Bosch in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture in Japan. The concept of the hotel is “excitement meets comfort”, which does amaze the whole world as it was also recognized by Guinness World Records as “the first robot-staffed hotel” in the world.

As you can see from the photo, the reception desk is handled by three robots – two scary dinosaurs on both sides and a kind woman very big smile in between. When you are ready to check in, go ahead to the desk, and say “Can I help check in now?”, and the robot will start talking to you. There are four languages that these robots can speak – Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean. So you will not experience problems like misunderstandings when checking in at this hotel.

After checking in, you will get your IC card which instructs you how to get access to your room.

In terms of swiping a card to enter room, this hotel provides facial-recognition system to get access to authorized area. Besides, to comply with the idea of reduction on electricity usage, all lights and even air-conditioners are sensor controlled at this entire hotel.

For people who arrive before check-in time, there is an area to save your luggage with only 500 Japanese Yen for 24 hours. PS: This big guy with a giant arm in the photo will help you put your belongings into the your individual box so that you can use more energy on exploring this robot world.

At the same time, for people who have already checked in, there is another robot who is gonna carry your luggage to the room. Due to some safety reasons, following behind the robot is necessary to keep it working.

After this simple guidance of check-in, it is time to see our rooms now. Here, the hotel offers three types of rooms – Standard, Superior and Deluxe. For the room itself, you can choose East Arm, which is cool and stylish design with simple functionality, while West Arm is full of warm wooden furniture with a cozy environment.

From these two pictures above, you may have noticed a little creature sitting on the bedside table. So who is this cute girl?

Her name is Chu-ri-chan whose job is to switch on the lights, report weather forecasts and give wake-up calls. And do not be silent for too long, because she will perk up in one hour to tell you she is lonely.
