BEST RESTAURANTS IN 5 DIFFERENT KINDS OF JAPANESE FOOD

As people talk about Japan, Tokyo and Osaka are always the main places that pops out in their minds, however, from today, there will be a new word spinning in your mind when the topic turns to be “BEST PLACE FOR DECENT TRADIATIONAL JAPANESE FOOD”.
Since 2014 when Michelin published a guide for restaurants in Fukuoka, fames of Fukuoka spread with an unstoppable trend. Here, I am going to list five restaurants where they only focus on one type of Japanese food.

Chikae

A very popular and top-grade restaurant recommended on all of the gourmet food sites, especially for its Karashi Mentaiko. There is a really large fish tank with three meters wide and 12 meters long, sitting in the center of shop interior next the dining tables with over 30 varieties of lively fish brought from different areas of Kyushu. In a meantime, they have totally 200 seats by counter tables and raised tatami-floored seating area called koagariseki. By the way, even though it is not as expensive as it looks, their popular lunch set is provided with a really reasonable price – 1500 Japanese Yen. Never miss it if you are fan of seafood!

Ichiran

This is a nationwide ramen chain restaurant which is now also the most famous ramen restaurant in Japan. Here question comes: do you where Ichiran was originally from? – Fukuoka.
At Ichiran, what you need to is not sitting at tables waiting for ordering, but going to the vending machine outside to make your order and get inside to hand your voucher to the chef through the curtain, then sit at the separate table to wait for your ramen. By doing so, Ichiran wants customers to concentrate more on food rather than communication.
Surprisingly, with the great reputation throughout the country, Ichiran is always offering a big delicious bowl of ramen with only 750 Japanese Yen.
Awesome, right?

Yoshizuka Unagiya

This fantastic eel (also called as unagi) restaurant started their business from 1873. If you like eel rice or any other food with eel, you will be super excited about restaurant. The plump grilled eel with a fragrant aroma, mixes with a little bit sweet sauce, becoming the house secret of Yoshizuka for a long time. For people who are tired of traditional eel rice, omelet wrapped eel and grilled eel liver are also popular among customers. PS: making a reservation before going will make your life in Japan easier.

Yamanaka-motsunabe

Motsunabe, is also called as Japanese hotpot, made with beef or pork offal, is regarded as a must-try food in Fukuoka without any doubt.
Amongst all motsunabe restaurants, Yamanka Honten is the most popular according to many famous magazines. Sitting in a cosy place like Yamanaka, you will have the best motsunabe to keep you warm in this cold season.
(Attention: miso flavour has taken down heaps of people by now, do try it without hesitation!)

Tempura Hirao Honten

Do you like Tempura? If you have tried Tempura in Japan before, trust me, this one will blow your mind by how awesome food at Tempura Hirao Honten are. This restaurant is ranked as the 1st among 11571 restaurants in Fukuoka according to TripAdvisor. Tempuras here are amazingly big, crunchy and completely fresh.
Maybe you only have tried shrimp tempura, but do not worry, here you will have six different options such as shrimp, Kyushu-raised pork, vegetables etc. Be early to go there because they have relatively limited seats but with great demands every day.
