From the biggest waterfall in Asia to off-the-beaten-track chutes, Vietnam is home to a stunning selection of falls.
Some are perfect for dipping, while others make for romantic picnic spots.
We have compiled 5 beautiful waterfalls for your next trip to Vietnam that will blow you out of the water!
There is a dream waterfall for everyone – whatever floats your boat! (yes, there will be water puns)

Ban Gioc Waterfall – Vietnam’s largest waterfall!

When you see Ban Gioc Waterfall, the first thing that comes to your mind is „wow“.

Located in both Vietnam and China, this is one of the biggest cross-border waterfalls in the world! Water crashes down more than 70 meters over 3 levels and stretches over 300 meters wide. Better add Ban Gioc Waterfall to your Vietnam Waterfall bucket list, so you won’t drown in regret!

Entrance Fee: 40,000 VND (≈ 1.70 USD)
How to get there:

→ by rental motorcycle
→ with an organised tour from Hanoi
→ on your own by bus from Hanoi or Cao Bang

Elephant Waterfalls – The waterfall for explorers!

Whoever told you to stop chasing waterfalls was terribly wrong (sorry TLC)! Because when in Vietnam, you will not want to go with the flow, but properly chase the mesmerising waterfalls. The Elephant Waterfalls, for instance, allow you to get up close and enjoy the best view possible!

Here you will definitely get the chance to get into uncharted waters!

Entrance Fee: 20,000 VND (≈ 1 USD)
How to get there:

→ rental motorcycle
→ by bus from Da lat to Nam Ban village (about 45 minutes)

Pongour Waterfall – The romantic waterfall!

Not as well known as the Elephant Waterfall, Pongour has the edge when it comes to ambience and untamed beauty! If you have your own transportation, you can easily visit both in one day. The multi-layered falls allow visitors to get under and behind them, perfect for cooling down.

No wonder why many said that the waterfall is considered one of the most romantic settings in the world. It is definitely good to the last drop!

Entrance Fee:10,000 VND (0.50 USD)
How to get there:

→ rental motorcycle
→ local bus

Datanla Falls – The waterfall for adventurers!

Many people come to Dalat for one purpose: Canyoning, or climbing down a waterfall. Datanla Falls is the best place for it!
A tour costs about $40 per person.

This is way less than you would spend on canyoning anywhere else in the world, so you won’t spend money like water when in Dalat!

Entrance Fee: 20,000 VND (≈ 1 USD)
Canyoning Fee: 800,000 VND (≈ 40 USD)
How to get there:

→ rental motorcycle
→ local bus
→ rental bicycle
→ walking

Giang Dien Waterfall – The legendary waterfall!

Located in the Southern city of Dong Nai, 50km outside of Ho Chi Minh City and easy to reach, Giang Dien is the confluence of 3 waterfalls:
Chang, Nang and Giang Dien.

According to local legends, once upon a time, there were two star-crossed lovers. They fell in love, but their parents didn’t allow them to get married.
The young couple decided to sacrifice their lives for love and jumped down the waterfalls.

To commemorate their love, the falls were named Chang (He) and Nang (She).

Entrance Fee: 50,000 VND (≈ 2 USD)
How to get there:

→ rental motorcycle
→ local bus

We will not water this down for you: There are plenty more magnificent waterfalls all over Vietnam!

And not only that, but also Halong Bay’s emerald waters in the north, vibrant waterways of the Mekong Delta in the south and golden sand beaches in between. You can explore each and every one of these splashing parties during your summer internship in Vietnam.

Watery waiting for!
