Christmas markets in Japan?-Yes, they do exist!
And in Fukuoka we have even two big ones with a slightly different outline than the traditional Christmas markets that an be found in Europe.

Hakata Station

Christmas Market and Illumination lights

A large amount of food and souvenir stalls serving the hungry crowd with mulled wine, German sausages, French crepe and much more sweets to make you feel like at home. Live music on the stage will make sure that you won’t feel bored on the weekends. Especially the Christmas light up is phenomenal with an almost musical like performance of colors, lights and music to completely charm you for Christmas.

Tenjin City Hall

This is not just Fukuoka’s, but Kyushu’s largest Christmas market! A huge stage will make sure that you will warm up your body and ears with idyllic live Christmas music and local performers. Throughout November and December the market operates on a daily basis. Several foreign stores will serve you all kind of international delights. Especially the huge meat drumsticks will awaken your appetite sooner than later.

Even if you go there on weekdays, you can meet a lot of people to mingle with locals and fellow international students.

How about exploring a very merry Far Eastern Christmas this year?
