1. Wat Pho

Indisputably, Wat Pho is one of the most iconic stops and one of Bangkok’s oldest Buddhist Temples. Also known as The Temple of The Reclining Buddha, this spectacular temple complex is truly something to marvel at. You can spend several hours here, just wandering around and taking it all in.

Price: 200 Baht per person (free entry for children under 120 cm)
Opening hours: 8.00am to 6.30pm
What to wear: You are required to dress appropriately, so remember to cover your knees and shoulders (this applies to all temples as well as the Grand Palace).

2. Wat Arun

This buddhist temple is one of Thailand’s best-known landmarks and should definitely be on your bucket list. Also known as The Temple Of Dawn, Wat Arun derives its name from the Hindi god Aruna, who is often personified as the radiations of the rising sun.

3. Grand Palace

The Royal Palace holds a significant place in the hearts of the Thai people as it is widely considered the most sacred Buddhist site in Thailand. Even though there are no longer any royals living in the Grand Palace, this historic building still remains the spiritual heart of the Thai Kingdom.

4. Khao San Road

In the 1980s, Khao San Road became the place to be for backpackers. It offers cheap accommodation, shopping, food, massages, tours, and parties. While some may tell you it is a tourist trap, it clearly is THE place to go if you fancy a fun night out or just dig into a big bowl of Pad Thai.

5. Chatuchak Weekend Market

On one of the world’s biggest markets, you can stroll around for hours and still not see everything. It’s a labyrinth of kitsch, souvenirs, silk, and food and if you are looking for something specific, you will find it here.

Advice: Bargaining is common in Thailand. Aim to pay 40% of the original price.

6. Chinatown

No visit to Bangkok would be complete without visiting Chinatown. From colourful and exciting to delicious food and interesting insights into the world of locals, Chinatown offers everything your heart desires.

With its diverse range from street vendors to fancy exquisite restaurants, Bangkok has something for each and every taste (and budget).
