1. The Food

Taiwan’s bustling night markets are a fascinating fusion of delicious street food and budget-friendly stalls that sell anything and everything. Every major city has at least one – so wherever you might go, you will have the chance to see the cities come to life.

Those Portuguese sailors were on to something when they named Taiwan the beautiful island. Home to amazing national parks that boast beaches, mountains, lush tropical forests, and even dormant volcanoes, Taiwan has it all.

While religious festivals are a common occurrence in Taiwan, there are also many other festivals held throughout the region that capture the imagination of travellers.

8. The Hotspring Mania
A favourite Taiwanese pastime is hanging out at the local hot springs. From public (swim wear-allowing) communal pools to nude private baths and even wild hot springs, choices are plenty. Make sure you do not miss out on this unique experience!

The subways in Taipei get you pretty much everywhere, plus they are clean and timely – and cheap! If you prefer to get around by bike, Taipei has a bike share program where the first 30 minutes will cost you a mere 5 Taiwan dollars!
